1st Day of School

okay, we are still alive for anyone who may be wondering...and we have been having fun. Here's what we have been up to... we have a new dog, her name is Oreo, she is a Border Collie. She is fantastic and is still a puppy, but we love her anyway. Over Labor Day we went and visited Uncle Devin, Aunt Nicole and Jonas, it was a terrific trip. Destry has taken up a new hobby of rock climbing, it occupies all of his spare time :) which isn't much. There is a lot of other things we have done, but since it has been so long I don't remember. Brynn is looking forward to turning 8 on October 8th, 2010 and being Baptized on 10/10/10 (pretty cool date huh?) She is in the 3rd grade and loves every minute of. They really have stepped up the academic end of things though. Keagyn has started 1st grade and has the kindest teacher ever. She is the perfect fit for Keagyn. She is learning to read and is getting to be very proficient at it. Auryana is very much a two year old, with all the fun, silliness and orneriness that comes with being two. She loves her one on one time at Grandma's. Destry is in school, finished his Associates and will be done with his Bachelor's in March of 2012, no don't get too excited, we still have the Master's to go for. But we are making progress. I am working at a local hospital and am really enjoying my job, which makes leaving home a lot easier. That's us in a nutshell, enjoy some of our pictures!

For all of you who have wondered if we have dropped off the face of the earth, a resounding no! But I do find it difficult to make myself sit down and post and besides it's not like you all want to know about my days at work. The girls have spent their summer with Twalla, reading, jumping, practicing their listening skills (not really, but we try), playing NCIS with sandwich bags, medicine droppers and dirt. Destry and I went to Boston for a work conference for me, that was fun. Destry checked out the BAC, where he may attend for his Masters in Architecture. Yesterday we went to Buttonwood Farms to see the sunflowers. It was great fun! We took a hayride through the farm. We saw cows, chickens and pigs, and fields of beautiful sunflowers. So far that is the extent of our summer. Pretty boring, but....that's what happens when we have school to pay for. And honestly we wouldn't have it any other way right now. We have truly felt the Lord's hand in our lives these past months, and we are forever grateful for his love. Enjoy the pictures!!!

Destry had to design this cube thing on paper, and then create it in 3-d, and had to make it into useable, living space. The model, as you can see, lifts apart so that the roof comes off, then the second floor comes out so you can see the first floor. Pretty neat I say...

Easter Dresses

It has been quite a while since I have posted anything. I will give you a quick update now that you have been showered with pictures. Last month we went to Boston to spend time with Destry's brother and his family. It was so much fun, (except for the air mattress, couldn't hold air straight out of the box, thanks Wal-Mart) to spend time with Devin, Nicole and Jonas. Thanks so much for your willingness to have 5 more people crash your 1 bedroom apartment in the heart of downtown Boston!!! Sweet memories that shall live forever. We were able to walk some of the Freedom Trail, go to the Boston Common Park, Boston Children's Museum (the best place ever!!!) and Mike's Pastry Shop, oh glorious pastries!!!!

We then had Easter, which was a great relaxing Sunday filled with yummy food and great family. Other than that, we have been crazy busy with Destry at school (18 credits this quarter) and he has a 3.81 GPA and currently has straight A's in all his classes. He is doing so well and LOVES all of his classes and can't wait to be a fully licensed Architect, which will be in about 5-7 years....wish it was sooner, but at least he knows now what he wants to be when he grows up.

I am still working at a Dermatology office, but have now been put in charge of helping their marketing and relationships between our office and the referring doctors offices. I am excited about this new challenge.

Brynn is doing well, no new episodes as of yet. We have her appointment set for May 14th with the Genetics and Cardiology Clinic at Yale. I wish time would go a lot faster for this. I so want to know why her little heart did funky things, and if they will ever happen again.

Keagyn is as wonderful as ever. She can now write her name!!! I love watching her grow and mature it is beautiful and breathtaking.

Auryana is trying her best to communicate with us using her own language. However, the other day I came home from work and she came around the corner and said, "Momma, momma, momma." Sweet music to my ears, but hasn't said it again. She is the goofiest thing ever and we enjoy her tremendously.

There you have it!!! Now time to go to bed!

Update on the Brynnster

Brynn came home from the Yale late Friday night and is doing well. As a matter of fact you would never know that anything even was wrong with the peanut. For those of you who haven't heard, Brynn had four episodes that including passing out, unconciousness and vomiting while trying to come out of it, last Tuesday. Two of the episodes happened at Twalla's house, one in the ambulance ride and the last in the ER at L&M hospital. The last two were caught while she was on a heart monitor. Which was good, because they caught some arryhthmias (?) One was a AV Block, quite normal, not too much concern and the other was a Mobitz type II AV Block, which can lead to full cardiac arrest. Just what every mother wants to hear right? Well, the decision was made to send her to Yale. She spent 2 days in the ICU there being monitored around the clock, having EKG's, ECG's, CT's, ultrasounds, blood work, etc. All the tests came back normal. Which is good, but didn't provide any answers as to why her little heart had this problem. She has had perfect sinus rhythm ever since too. So they sent her blood work off to Texas for Genetic testing. There is a syndrome called Heart-Hand syndrome. Pretty much what they are seeing is if there is a connection between her nubbie and her syncope episodes that she had. We found out that with this syndrome the same proteins that build the upper extremities also build the heart and when there are abnormalities with the upper extremities there can be associated heart issues. If she does have this, then her heart will continue to deteriorate over time, and the option is a pacemaker. While we are not thrilled with this news, it would be nice to know why her heart "stopped" working for a few seconds, instead of chalking it up to a "freak" incident, that may or may not happen again. Oh, and did I mention that the genetic testing takes up to 2 months for the results!!! Happy waiting game........well that was a lot of information to unload, but it does feel good to have that off my chest. Please keep Brynn in your thoughts and prayers over the next few months. We will keep you updated on her status.

And to all of you have already had Brynn in your thoughts and prayers, thank you oh so much. We have felt the strength and it has been great!!!

Happy Birthday to Aury! Happy Birthday to you!

I can't believe how time flies, and that the little munchkin has turned 1! But she is adorable, and spunky. She has been walking now for a little over month, her favorite word is wowwww. She can pull the funniest faces including a really good stink eye for no apparent reason whatsoever. She is easy going and very patient, which is good considering what her big sisters put her through sometimes. She is a daddy's girl I would say, but I think that Destry would say she is a momma's girl, but none the less she is a keeper for our family. We are so glad that she is here to bring us such joy and love in our home.

I can hardly believe that this little munchkin turned 4 today. What a great girl she is! She is our princess/fancy nancy queen, and we wouldn't want it any other way. She has the most beautiful BLUE eyes, and she has a Bostonian accent, you know "park the car" and such nonsense. She can be found singing or dancing or playing with babies. She is the best little and big sister that could be asked for! So, to my dear sweet Keagyn, I love you and am so delighted to you have you as my daughter, you bring sweet smiles, tons of laughter and great fun into our family, thank you for being our surprise!

Working Mom slacks on blogging.....

So, now you all know why there hasn't been any new postings for over a month now. I am back at work, a love hate relationship. I work at a dermatology office in Mystic. It is a beautiful place to work, with lovely people and I couldn't ask for a better place, if only they would pay me to stay at home with my girls, now that would be ideal!!! Maybe someday.....I will now be premiering my girls' first dance recital, and Clyde's Cider Mill (all occurred in November), ummmmm and some other random pictures of the chica's, so please enjoy!

We had a great time for Halloween this year, Brynn and Keagyn had class parties at school that I was able to go to. I have decided that Halloween was made for Keagyn, all within one day she was a Fairy, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland. Brynn was a Fairy and then Mulan. Aury was simply a ladybug, but a dang cute one. We went to Trunk or Treat, which was inside this year due to the weather, and then to Brynn's school with some friends from church for trick or treating there. Needless to say, we made out like bandits in the candy department, not good for my hips!!

Okay this was our family home evening for last week. I decided that really fresh apples would make the best pie for Brynn, so we went to Holmberg Orchards to pick apples. The girls had so much fun! We talked about faith and how the apple trees come from a seed and likened that to faith. I was very impressed with how much the girls understood the message.

It was a great day for her and for us here are some of the pictures from her dinner. She wanted apple pie instead of cake, and she took cupcakes to her class. The missionaries came for dinner and she really enjoyed them as well. Good times.

Today we went to Holdridges. It is a garden store. They released a bunch of Monarch Butterflies, it was somewhat of a let down. The way it was advertised led us to believe that there would thousands of them released at one time. Well, maybe 50 were released, but the girls enjoyed it, and we got some really cool pictures of the butterflies.

Brynn has officially turned 6!!!! I am so impressed with this lovely young lady that I have in my home. She is an amazing girl, with tons of courage, spunk and love. She is one great helper around the house, always pitching in to help her little sisters, mom and dad. She loves going to first grade, coming home and doing homework. Her favorite class is gym, she loves to be active. Anything physical makes her happy. She has a beautiful singing voice, and has already lost 5 teeth!!! She is the best 2 wheel bike rider that I have seen in our neighborhood, and her favorite colors are dark blue, dark red and dark purple. I love Brynn and our family wouldn't be complete without her.

1) Keagyn is a thumb sucker, not to interesting, but she has to have skin with it. Not her own, but someone else's, namely mine. No matter where we are, at home, school, church. She is known to lift up my shirt, untuck my garments and "get skin". I find it annoying, she loves it.

2) Brynn can make her nubby talk, it is hillarious!!!

3) Auryana loves to eat paper, it makes her so happy, the feel of it in her mouth and the crinkly noise that it makes.

4) Destry hates scary movies, he won't watch them unless it is daytime and he has plenty of time to distract himself from the scenes.

5) We just bought a Nintendo Wii and love playing it as a family, it is great fun, mom usually wins at bowling(I am amazing).

6) I still haven't completely unpacked a single room in our house. We also haven't finished any of the projects that we have started, well the roof is done, but there is only one side of the house that is painted, the ceilings still have to be painted, the trim, and we have almost lived here for a year. Pathetic I know.

Update of our Lives...

Saturday's are always busy around here and today was no different. Up at 7, well we tried, then off to the park at 9 to drop off signs for the Walk-a-thon, then to soccer by 10. Played for an hour, that was fun. Brynn is having a tough time adjusting to soccer this year, it seems that she keeps getting "sick" when on the playing field. More on that later. Then to the bank, pay the car payment, then to the Walk-a-thon, walk 5 K's to raise canned food for the local food bank. Came home, rested, showered, and took Brynn's tempature 101.3, bad mom for not believing her that she was really sick. :( Then Destry and I went on a date, to Cruise Night. We saw some really great cars, Mustangs, Fairlaines etc. Then to dinner at 99, yummy steak tenderloin tips mmmmm!!!! Then shopping for new shoes and a new car seat for Aury, little bugger just keeps growin'. Back to my mom's (a big thank you for babysitting) then home again. Just got everyone in bed, whew!!! A lot of fun, but we are tired, and now I am off to prepare (more) my lesson for tomorrow and Destry is doing homework!! Yes, he started school, I am so proud of him for taking on this new endeavor. He isn't too much of a school buff, so I know how difficult this is for him and I am so glad that he is willing to sacrifice even more of his "free" time to better himself. I am very glad to have him as my husband, I don't tell him that enough. Love ya!!!

Brynn and Keagyn have been having a great time riding bikes this summer. We have the best street too, it is long straight and flat. Last night when I came home from Kick Boxing, I was informed that Brynn could now ride a two-wheeler on her own, NO TRAINING WHEELS!!! I was so amazed at this accomplishment. Dad on the other hand, was rather disappointed, why you make ask, because she figured it out on her own, no teachers, nada, nothin'. Simply got her friend's bike and rode. Keagyn now wants to try it too, but mom is a little nervous about that one, maybe next summer.

Today my sweet baby girl is 6 months old....where has the time gone. She is sitting up, getting very good at rolling to the floor from sitting up and is scooting everywhere!!! I believe it will be only a few more weeks till the little monkey is crawling!!!!!! She is the happiest thing in the entire world, everyone at church and where I work out is always amazed at how happy she is. They are constantly asking me if she ever cries, because they have never heard her cry. She is fabulous!!! I am so glad to have her in our family....we love you Miss Aury!

We had our "new" Home Teachers over last night, and we had a great time. Good lesson and lots of laughs too. The funny thing is we got Keagyn to say a lot of words with r's in them... you know park the car, Noah's ark, etc. Some of you may wonder why, well she has a Boston accent. It is so cute and hilarious!!! I will see about video taping it and putting it on the site.

4th of July Parade

Once again, I am late at posting, but hey better late than never I always say....here we are the parade in Groton. The funniest thing happened as the parade was starting. The color guard for the police were walking down the road when we all heard screaming. They dropped the flags, or handed them off to others and ran to arrest someone. Very memorable, sorry no pictures of the felon, just my cute family.

The last picture is the "float" our ward did. The theme was Home Town Heros, so we thought that the two Eagle Scouts, and wanna be Eagle Scout would be great. The missionaries were also there passing out pass a long cards and other flyers.

Okay, here are some pictures of Brynn's end of year program. They all did such a great job, they sang so many cute songs, and the teacher's even had it choreographed!!! Talk about dedication and patience. Oh yeah, it was so hot in the gym, the schools here don't have AC and this was during our first 90/90 days, which means temp in the 90's and humidity in the 90's too, way to much fun!!

May has been a sad month for Keagyn. Two of the 3 Musketeers have moved out of Connecticut. Keagyn will miss her two dearest friends...Kaitlyn and Eliza. (However, I am sure that their Sunbeam teacher is glad the trio is broken up) What one would do the others would follow, and they all took turns being the ring leader. But I have never seen 3 girls get along so well as these guys. We miss all of the Nelson's and the Cummings!!!

Brynn had Challenge Day or Field Day on May 30th, she did great, had tons of fun with all of the Kindergardeners (spelling?) playing games like the Caterpillar Roll, Bean Bag Toss, Water-balloon toss, etc. She was also in the Hat Parade.

So it has been way too long since I have posted anything....let's get caught up!!! We have gone repelling with the Young Women, summer is officially upon us. Oh yes, and the most wonderful thing... our kitchen is almost complete. ( the picture is of the demolition part, I need to clean it up first so that I can take a perty picture to show you all) I say almost only because the trim isn't up yet and caulking still needs to be done, but it is completely functioning!!!! Yippee, see me dancing all around I am very happy!!! I finally have a dishwasher!!! Sweet nectar of life, a dishwasher!! Okay enough, enjoy the pictures.

Here are some pictures of the girls taken recently, Brynn and Keagyn are being silly, Keagyn "crossing" her eyes and pulling a face along with Keagyn holding Aury. I am a very lucky mom to have three wonderful girls, Brynn is growing up to be quite the young lady, Keagyn is a pure sweetheart and Aury is precious. I am very thankful to my Heavenly Father for all that he has given me.

Whirlwind

Last week was a whirlwind. Destry's Grandma Ure passed away, she will be missed but are very glad that she is reunited with Grandpa Ure. Took Aury to her 2 month check up, she weighed 13 lbs 1 oz, and measured 23 1/2 inches, you GROW girl!!! The next day took Keagyn to the doctor, had an ear infection, 1st one of her life, pretty good don't ya think??? Flew to Utah on Friday, got there about 12:00am MST, Destry woke up Saturday morning at 5:45 am drove to Idaho for his Grandma's funeral, and I stayed in Provo and had the wonderful opportunity to visit with my cousins and aunts and uncles that I haven't seen in 3+ years. Sunday woke up flew back to Connecticut and resumed life as we know it. Whew...glad that week is over, now if only I could get my "contractor" husband to finish the kitchen life would be grand!!!

Okay, so yesterday I went to Sears and had the girls' pictures taken professionally. It was fun and thank goodness we had Auntie Haley with us, or we could have had trauma. Brynn and Keagyn were fabulous, they listened very well, except for when Brynn would try to tell the photographer how to pose her and Keagyn, it was really funny. The photographer was really patient and very impressed with posing that was done.

Our newest little girl arrived on March 3, 2008!!! She came to the world in a hurry, and hasn't slowed down since. She weighed 9lbs 14oz and measured 20 inches!!! She looks an awful lot like Keagyn did, but we see Brynn in her too. She is good and is enjoying her sisters and being home.
